- Understanding Conflict and Early Recognition: Sharpen your ability to spot different types of conflict and their triggers, like misunderstandings or intoxication. You'll learn how to identify early warning signs and escalating behaviors through verbal and non-verbal cues.
- Effective Communication for De-escalation: Master active listening, questioning, and verbal de-escalation techniques. You'll learn to manage your tone, pace, and language, along with non-verbal cues, to project confidence and reduce tension.
- De-escalation Techniques & Managing Challenging Behaviour: Get equipped with practical de-escalation models like "REACT"(Request, Explain, Appeal, Confirm, Take Action). The course also covers strategies for managing anger and dealing with highly emotional individuals, including those who may be under the influence or experiencing mental distress.
- Personal Safety and Risk Assessment: Your safety is paramount. This unit teaches you how to perform dynamic risk assessments in real-time. You'll reinforce principles of personal space and positional safety and understand how to avoid physical confrontation through theoretical breakaway techniques.
- Legal and Post-Incident Considerations: Review key legal aspects, including reasonable force and self-defense, to ensure you're always acting within the law. You'll also learn the importance of accurate record-keeping, reporting, and the value of post-incident debriefing.

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor or Close Protection Licence
• Must be proficient in spoken and written English
• Must be physically capable of participating in practical scenarios
• Previous experience in security, military, custodial, or law enforcement is beneficial but not required
